Teenage Nightmare
February 4th, 2010, by Print Liberation, No Comments »Poor Zara Hartshorn has lipodystrophy, a genetic disease that causes a person to lose fat in their face making them look old and wrinkled at a young age. This 13 year old girl from England has been all over the news lately because of her rare disease that she inherited from her mother. I doubt many people even ever knew what lipodystrophy was- I definitely didn’t and that’s partly why the poor girl had to be pulled out of school. There is no cure for it and plastic surgery doesn’t do a thing. It doesn’t look as alarming on a woman’s body in my opinion and could even have its advantages once you’re over 21 but as a child it has to be insanely frustrating. 8 years to go Zara and you can get all kinds senior citizen discounts and can give lots of unasked for advice because you’d look old and wise. It’ll be all worth it then.

If you know Catharine Maloney you’d agree that it is impossible not to adore her. I’ve been a fan of hers since I first met her six years ago in snowy Vermont. Catharine has a refreshing sense of humor and humility in everything she does and it clearly shows through in her work. She has a knack for catching odd angles, awkward postures and irregular sizes which add a mysterious and secretive nature to her photographs. I’ve included a selection of photos from her her Hide Out series and you can see even more on her website http://www.catharinemaloney.com .

Conrad is a big time Elvis fan who writes honest and biting poems that have become some of my personal favorites.

A Letter to My Dear Crispin
January 29th, 2010, by katie miller, No Comments »Dear Crispin,
I loved you very intensely for a a few months last year. Actually, to be honest I was obsessed. I watched all of your movies, your music videos and interviews over and over until I knew them by heart. I even dreamt about you. I wished on many stars that you would appear to me but you never came, so I lost interest. Where have you been? Why are you so crazy? And more importantly, will you make more music videos please?
Love always especially if you make more music videos,
Katie
