I posted some other hotline videos awhile back, but this one definitely deserves to be put in the hall of fame as well.
Russell Ihrig lives in Bellevue, Ky which is a stone's throw from Cincinnati, OH. He likes video games, horror movies, and tiny dogs.
Hope everyone had a good New Year’s Eve. I threw this really great party in a grocery store. Sorry I didn’t invite you guys… it was kind of a private affair. Luckily we filmed the whole thing. Enjoy!
http://www.dailymotion.com/videox2g2w7Still haven’t finished Christmas shopping? Don’t know what to buy for the person who has everything? Don’t worry, I’m here to help. These unique gift ideas are guaranteed to make the Holidays bright:
TAUNTAUN SLEEPING BAG
Do you have a little nerd in your life? Then I bet he’ll appreciate this amazing Tauntaun sleeping bag. Enjoy hours of pretending to slice open your recently deceased animal companion and then stuff yourself into his warm intestines. And I thought they were cuddly on the outside!
LANDY DÉSIR COGNAC
Your eyes are not deceiving you; that bottle of cognac is actually wearing a miniature dress and hat. I walked into my local liquor store with a friend and spotted this little gem the other day. I tried to convince him to chip in 30 bucks and split it with me, but he wasn’t having it. At $60, I think it’s a steal.
YULE A GO-GO: THE BURLESQUE YULE LOG DVD
http://www.vimeo.com/1968015So, take your basic video fireplace and then green-screen strippers in front of it and you’ve got Yule A Go-Go. I was at a christmas party recently where this was playing and I was glued to my seat until I had seen each and every holiday-themed strip tease… and then I watched them all a second time. It’s probably the best video art I’ve seen all year. If you happen to be buying a gift for me, please take special note of this one.
One of the other posts reminded me of this little gem that I first encountered on a TV Carnage DVD- The lovely Lucille Cataldo singing Hairdresser. I think it might be my favorite song ever.
This is an original composition by the way, and it originally appeared on a cable access talent show in the 80’s called Stairway to Stardom. You have to admit that her fashion sense is pretty revolutionary. The belted trash bag look was years ahead of its time.
Until I was about 8 years old, I shared a room with my older brother who was obsessed with Heavy Metal. Our bedroom walls were covered with posters of Ozzy and Iron Maiden, which fascinated and terrified me. Every picture of Ozzie showed a dangerous man who would not hesitate to kill and probably eat you. Looking back, I really respect the whole aestheitic of 80’s metal. Not enough musicians are willing to put on a full wolf-man costume, these days. So, even though it’s a bit late for Halloween, enjoy Ozzie Osbourne’s Bark at the Moon video.
In the world of music, Abba and the ukulele both have a hard time being taken seriously. One is the definition of schmaltzy pop, and the other is seen as a toy-instrument, best suited for novelty. It’s no wonder that they create such a wonderful marriage in this Youtube video, and reveal the feelings of heartbreak that are hidden in Abba’s upbeat original.
