Logan White is on fire. She’s been a photo making machine since the age of 13 when she started working in her first darkroom and in the last two years that I’ve known Logan, her work has struck me in awe again and again both by the variety of her technical exploration and her range and depth of content. She’s bounced around over the last few years from Providence, RI where she studied photography at RISD to Italy and the Czech Republic, New York City, Philadelphia and now back to her hometown Macon, GA where she is focusing on making work in the landscape she knows best. Logan’s photographs are likely to leave you feeling haunted with their looming sense of mysticism and sensuality in a cast of dark and hazy light. Included in this interview are photos from her recent commission with Urban Outfitters Spring/Summer 2010 Lookbook as well as photos from her recent series Chewed Pearls and Rose Hill: The Purity Myth.
